Using an existing triangular-shaped building to its full potential, the Multifunction Music Center (MMC) at SEN Music Voice Studio is a school program offering Kazakhstani students an unprecedented opportunity to gain experience in the field of music recording at no cost to their families, as well as functioning as an affordable professional studio for both local musicians and international clients.
The facility is fully equipped for tracking, editing, mixing, mastering, and other functions. The studio features an A-suite with a tracking room and two isolation booths large enough to house a grand piano. The control room was tuned and built to house Guzawski-Swist GS3B monitors, and includes a 24-channel SSL 900 console. The live room features adjustable biffusor panels with absorptive and diffusive surfaces to modify the acoustic qualities of the room as needed. The facility also features two smaller composition rooms each featuring an API The Box II console.
Furniture, construction and installation assisted by Tony Brett and Brett Acoustics. Thom Canova of Canova Audio consulted and advised the installation of low-voltage audio wiring.
