After years of planning, June Audio's multi-room recording facility is up and running. Three recording suites comprising over 4,000 sq. ft. of recording space make this Utah's premiere recording complex. Owner Scott Wiley has a long track record in the recording industry, with many high profile credits and long established connections, ensuring June Audio's continued success as they begin this exciting new phase!
Control Room A features a 32-channel API 2448 in-line console with 72 channels available at mixdown. This is a large, diffuse RFZ control room with a wide sweet spot. The beautiful flame/bird's eye maple front wall was hand-crafted by Tony Brett, who also built the console housing, credenzas, and other studio furniture for both control rooms.
The rear wall employs tuned membrane traps, broadband traps, and Brett Acoustic Slatffusors for flat low frequency response and mid/high end diffusion. ATC SCM-150 main monitors are tri-amplified and powered by ATC crossovers and power amps.
Live Room A utilizes Brett Acoustics Multiffusors to give the room a wide variety of possible decay characteristics. The diffusive walls and highly diffusive ceiling create a beautiful room tone for drums, and for the studio's Yamaha C7 Grand Piano. Three large isolation booths offer excellent visual access, with doors that can be swung open for rehearsals, allowing musicians to rehearse without headphones. There are six Brett Acoustics Gobos to allow for live in the room recording techniques.
Control Room B features a Daking console and the same ATC SCM 150 main monitors as Control Room A, so that mixing sessions can be moved easily between rooms. Tracking Room B is ideal for smaller band sessions, with a diffuse approach to treatment that makes the room sound bigger than it is. There's also a large drum booth with good visual access.
Both studios have racks full of outboard gear-just about anything you can think of, by API, Chandler, BAE, Manley, Retro Instruments, LaChapell, Lang, Neve, Trident, Langevin, Empirical Labs, dbx, Eventide, Avalon, Lexicon, Overstayer, etc.
