Situated in downtown Clearwater, Florida, just across the bay from Tampa, Clear Track Productions is a 4000 square foot recording studio facility featuring a new A room by Wes Lachot Design Group. This studio is minutes from Clearwater Beach, and the studio lounge looks out onto a water park surrounded with palm trees.
The Control Room is built around an SSL 8000G+ console (former Record Plant) with 56 inputs, Total Recall, and Ultimation moving fader automation. The active main monitor system consists of Dynaudio M3As, Chord SPA1032 amplifiers, and Avalon crossovers.
There's an excellent assortment of outboard gear by Neve, API, Calrec, GML, Lexicon, Bricasti, Eventide, TC, etc. Recorders include Pro Tools HD3 as well as Studer A827 2" 24-track and Ampex ATR-102 1/2" 2- track machines.
A great feature of the control room is the wide, deep sweet spot, which extends all the way back to the client couch. This is achieved by means of the side wall diffsorber trapping, which compliments the rear wall RPG Diffractal diffusor array. The acoustic treatments create a very neutral monitoring environment with just the right amount of natural ambiance. Acoustic guitars sound great in the control room - not too dead with plenty of volume!
On the other side of the glass, the Tracking Room is home to a 6'-11" Yamaha C-6 grand piano (there's also a great guitar collection). The acoustics are nicely balanced - we've used a unique array of absorbers and RPG diffusors on the side walls. There's also extensive bass trapping, as well as a set of four large custom gobos, two with vision glass.
Each Iso-booth has it's own individual acoustic character, with the smaller of the two being very absorptive, and the larger more diffusive. Studio A has its own private lounge, with beautiful tropical view, a built-in kitchenette, and entertainment center.
