Suntone Recording Studio is Savannah's latest state-of-the-art multifunctional studio and recording space. Designed and directed by Wes Lachot, Adam Wyatt's vision had been brought to life. Named after the barbershop quartet his grandfather sang with after his service in the Korean War, Suntone Recording Studio offers a 600 sq ft live room and dual isolation booths, as well as a wide range of equipment and resources for aspiring and seasoned musicians alike.
Originally from Denver, Adam Wyatt, who could now be considered a Savannah native, came to the city to study at SCAD and, being a musician himself, wanted to combine his passion for music with giving back to his community through the creation of a studio space in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
One notable aspect of the studio's design is the use of pocketed Hexaffusor honeycomb cloud diffusers, which were co-invented by Wes Lachot and Dr. Peter D'Antonio. These diffusers not only enhance the acoustics of the space but also inspired the murals found throughout the building, creating a cohesive connection between Suntone Recording Studio and the ArtStryings Gallery and Studio that shares the location.
The recording studio boasts a 32-channel API Console, ATC Monitoring and all of the latest plug-ins, allowing for any style of workflow to help artists make their creative visions a reality. Tony Brett of Brett Acoustics installed the studio interior and Thom Canova of Canova Audio handled the studio technical wiring.
