The Mixing Room
Omaha, NE

Celebrating their grand opening in August 2009, The Mixing Room is a multi-room post production facility based in Omaha, NE. Owners (and former competitors) Chris Acker and Kurt Labenz joined forces to create this new company, and have completed their new 2500 square foot facility.

The Mixing Room complex consists of two separate, identical post productions suites, each with it's own control room, recording area, and sound lock, as well as a shared machine room. The lobby features lots of natural light and plant life, and leads to a client lounge, reception area, kitchen, office, restrooms, and storage room.

In addition to the facility as a whole, all of the studio furniture, including the console desks, credenzas, reception desk and cabinetry, as well as the lounge and kitchen furniture, were custom designed by Wes Lachot Design. Studio furniture was built by Jeff McCabe along with L.K. Schweitzer & Co. Other built-ins were built by the project contractor, Meyers Carlisle Leapley Construction Co., Inc. All aspects of the acoustical construction and finishes were handled by Tony Brett of Brett Acoustics.

The post production suites are outfitted with Pro Tools HD3, along with Digidesign Control 24 consoles. The 5.1 surround monitoring systems are by Blue Sky International.
